A DRINK driver who crashed into an oncoming car had been on the wrong side of the road, a court was told.
Burnley Magistrates heard Catherine Wearing, 50, admitted to police she had taken alcohol immediately.
Wearing, of Acrefield, Padiham, admitted driving with excess alcohol and driving without due care and attention. She was fined £300, with £50 costs and banned from driving for two years.
Silvia Dacre, prosecuting, told the court the defendant had been at the wheel of her Vauxhall Astra on Burnley Road, Padiham.
She had been on the wrong side of the road and crashed into a car coming in the opposite direction.
Nobody was injured and she was taken to the police station. The lower of two breath tests revealed 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.
Graeme Tindall, defending, said Wearing had a clean driving licence and it was the first time she had appeared in court. She had now lost her good name.
