DARWEN Gala preparations are under way at the Earcroft Community Base, with residents being called upon to create a float.
Preparation sessions will take place from Monday, August 11, to Friday, August 15, from 1pm to 3.30pm.
Michelle Rutherford, base co-ordinator, said: "We want people to come along and it's a real chance for the community to get involved in the design of the float and costumes for the gala, on Saturday, August 16.
"Children are welcome to attend, but they must be accompanied by an adult."
The base is also playing host to summer slam sessions from this Monday to Friday, from 1pm to 3pm, for children aged between 11 and 16.
Michelle added: "We want to give the children something fun to do during the summer holidays because it's no fun just sitting around."
