A DRUNKEN youth who assaulted a pub landlady as he struggled to break free has been given a 12 months ban from all public houses in the Todmorden area.
The move comes after a Pubwatch committee of all the 36 pubs and clubs in the boundaries of Todmorden was formed and met to discuss what action to take about the youth's behaviour.
A delighted Angela Butler, who took over managing the Black Swan Hotel just over three months ago and has been appointed secretary of the Pubwatch committee, said: "That lad is very well known in the town centre pubs and I am glad everyone decided he had overstepped the mark.
"It is about time we got the message across that bad behaviour will not be tolerated."
The next meeting of Pubwatch, also to be held at the White Hart, will be discussing a possible exclusion order on a group of Mixenden youths who had come into Todmorden intent on causing trouble.
