SOME people continue to bury their heads in the sand over what is becoming a major burden on this country -- illegal immigrants and 90 per cent of them are never deported.

It was recently reported that illegal immigrants suffering from AIDS had to remain in this country, if the country they came from was unable to supply them with AIDS drug treatment.

People are making their way here to avail themselves of free medical care and English people needing treatment are, as a result, having to wait behind illegal immigrants who have not contributed (and are not likely to) to the health system.

This state of affairs cannot continue.

C EDWARDS (Mr), Greenway Street, Darwen.
