LEYLAND Motors 2nd XI consolidated their position at the top of Northern Premier League's division two with a six wicket victory over Blackpool at Sandy Lane, Leyland.
The seasider's total of 151 was quickly eclipsed by Motors' batsmen - Watkinson top scoring with an impressive 80 not out.
Division One is headed by Darwen but despite Preston's defeat at the hands of Kendal they still remain part of the chasing pack. Kendal's six wicket victory was anchored by an unbeaten 79 from Terry Hunte, leaving Preston four places off top spot.
Atif Ashraf top scored with 101 in Motors' away victory over Blackpool.
But it was bowler Aspinall, with figures of 5/46, who stole the show.
He helped to hold Blackpool to 185/9 in their attempt to reach Motors' total of 218/9.
On Saturday Motors play St Annes, Preston entertain Darwen while Leyland travel to Netherfield.
