READ set up Cup and League double after clinching the Jennings Ramsbottom Cup title.

In the league Read and Settle had played out a thrilling draw. Peter Sleep continued his superb form for the top club, taking five wickets for just 24 runs as the home side were dismissed for 77. But what looked like an easy victory for Read turned into a nightmare as Stuart Hornby took five wickets for 28 runs, with the professional backed up by his captain Andrew Davidson who captured 17 to leave the scores tied when the final wicket fell.

Great Harwood edged two points closer to the top club with Aussie professional Andrew Crook on form with both bat and ball. He scored a half century and Andy McNicholas scored 100 not out as they set a total of 240-9. Crook followed up by taking 6-78 with Edenfield professional Ian Mitchell run out on 97 saw his side reach 208 in reply.

Ribblesdale Wanderers moved into third place with a five wicket win over Oswaldtwistle Immanuel despite professional Merrick scoring 76 in their total of 238-9. Wanderers scored 142-5 in reply.

Neil Cordingley scored 67 as Whalley posted a total of 134-8 against Earby, but the Applegarth club's captain Chris Walton led his side to a seven-wicket victory with 47 not out with teenager Matthew Nutter adding 49.

Cherry Tree picked up the points against Padiham with Chris Riley reached 67 as they set a target of 178 despite Ken Hitchen taking 5-31. Nigel Robbins took 4-17 as Padiham were dismissed for 114.

Baxenden were dismissed for just 62 with Blackburn Northern professional Gareth Flusk taking 5-28. Northern reached a comfortable six-wicket victory.

Barnoldswick's Sri Lankan professional Kalatunga smashed 72 not out as his team raced to an eight wicket win over Clitheroe in 35 overs. Captain Michael Scothern added 40 as they reached 133-2 in reply to Clitheroe's 132-8 when Matthew Bolton top scored on 38.
