A DARWEN cat rescuer is still pleading for help with a £1,000 vet bill after a pet was kicked and dumped by its owner.
Maureen Savage, of Moggies Cat Rescue in Stansfield Street, was contacted two weeks ago by an Accrington woman who found the cat and her three kittens in a box in Willows Lane in Accrington.
Maureen said: "She contacted me and it was clear that the 18-month old black and white cat had been kicked and her eye was in a really bad state.
"Her three kittens were fine and they were all in good health."
The vet bill to save the cat came to just under £1,000 and now the volunteer is calling on the public to help out.
She said: "I'm over loaded with cats at the moment. I have 18 adult cats in at the moment and I have pens in the living room and the kitchen. I'm looking for new homes for all of them."
The injured cat, named Willow after the lane she was found in, has been neutered and is looking for a kind owner.
