Ski Rossendale is preparing to host the very first Party in the Valley on Bank Holiday Monday.

Music, food and skiing will be on offer for party-goers who attend the huge event on Monday.

Although the fun will be centred on the ski slopes, leisure centres across the borough will also be putting on fun-filled activities.

At the ski slope there will be live music from local bands, fast-track skiing and snowboarding lessons, snow tubes and human ten pin bowling.

In the evening, there will be a barbecue, outdoor bar and live DJs.

Michael Hunt, Rossendale interim leisure manager, said: "We wanted to hold an exciting and innovative event that appealed to all local people, whatever their age.

"The party takes place at all the leisure facilities in the Valley, with the main focus at Ski Rossendale."

The council is running a Buzzcard promotion of £5 per person, or £15 for a family of four, giving unlimited entry to all the leisure facilities, including the main event at Ski Rossendale.
