BRINGING a classical technique to her rendition of the blues is Japanese singer and pianist Yukiko Yoshizu.
Yukiko moved to Bristol two years ago and this will be her first trip to Lancashire.
"I'm really looking forward to it. I like performing at festivals. I play boogie woogie and the blues."
Born in Sapporo, Japan, 29-year-old Yukiko is a classically trained musician, who took up the piano at seven.
A chance hearing of a boogie woogie CD attracted her to the blues, which she likes to perform using classical techniques.
She said: "Usually when people play the blues on the piano, they just chip at the keyboard.
"If I did that I would break my hands, because they're only small! So instead I adopt a classical approach and don't use such force."
Catch Yukiko on the acoustic stage on Sunday at 2.45pm.
