MORE than six acres of a farmer's land in Hindley has been destroyed by fire.
Firefighters suspect children playing with matches started the yesterday's blaze, which spread rapidly because of a breeze.
Four fire crews went to the fire at Hall Street, and a six-wheeled fire engine, for use on farmland, was used to help put the fire out. The crews were at the blaze for three hours.
