THE new-look Help the Aged shop in Burnley has opened its doors to customers after closing for three weeks for a face-lift.

Shop manager Elaine Almond said the new look was already proving to be a winner.

The store, in Yorkshire Street, has new changing rooms and improved wheelchair access. The workroom, where staff sort through the donations of clothes and other second-hand goods, has also been extended to allow volunteers to get the stock on the shelves quicker.

Mrs Almond, of Fleetwood Close, Blackburn, said: "The changes have made a really big difference. We have been really busy since we re-opened and the response from customers has been brilliant.

"We are also desperate to recruit some more people to join our team and help us raise funds for the charity. Now the sales floor is looking much brighter and with a bigger work room we are hoping more volunteers might want to join us."
