POLICE are following up leads in Liverpool after trailers stolen in a raid on a Baxi yard in Leyland were recovered in the city.
During the raid, in the early hours of Sunday, August 17, a security guard was tied up and bundled into a car before being released in Crawford, near St Helens.
The gang of around ten masked thieves are thought to have cut part of a metal fence surrounding the compound on Tomlinson Road, then drove three tractors into the yard.
The tractors were hitched up to trailers containing boilers and parts, but one was crashed and was left behind. The trailers were recovered this morning (Tuesday) in Liverpool.
DS John Wilkinson from Leyland CID said: "We are interviewing the security guard and we believe there's up to ten people involved in this robbery.
"Although he was threatened and shaken up the security guard was unhurt. We are appealing for anyone who is offered any of these boilers to contact us."
Anybody with information should call Leyland police on 01772 433561 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
