AROUND 50 men were involved in a violent incident between two groups in Rawtenstall last night.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the incident, which took place near the Old Cobblers Inn on New Hall Hey Road at 6pm. They were being questioned at Burnley police station today.
Three men were taken to Fairfield Hospital, Bury, with injuries which are not life-threatening.
Inspector Steve Chapman, of Lancashire Police, said: "Fifty young Asian males were engaged in a violent dispute which appears to have been a pre-arranged meeting of two Asian groups."
High-visibility patrols were sent to Haslingden and Rawtenstall after the incident
