ROSSENDALE bounced back from their opening day defeat but had to come back from a 1-0 deficit.

A break away saw John Turner fire the visitors in front.

But Dale levelled through Lee Cooper on the stroke of half-time before Karl Bell fired in a second in first-half injury time.

Dale increased their lead on 68 minutes after Danny Kent's clearance hit Brooks and the midfielder reacted quickest to toe poke the ball home past Bennett.

Brierley hit the bar with a towering header, but a goalmouth scramble led to Brian Honor scoring from close range to reduce the arrears.
