I AGREE with Paul Haworth that fortnightly rubbish collections are a bad idea and could ultimately end up creating more problems.
Ribble Valley Council has just been awarded funding from the Government to purchase four split bodied collection trucks that have two compartments.
This will allow household refuse to be taken each week, along with green waste initially then, perhaps, as the scheme becomes established, glass, tin cans, plastic etc, on a rotating weekly cycle.
This system seems to make more sense than the one Blackburn Council are currently trying.
Do we really want to be ruled from Blackburn?
