THE ubiquitous John Anson -- in his guise as a TV critic -- devoted his entire column on a rant at BBC's coverage of the World Athletic Championships (LET, August 28).
May I -- as a sports fan whose interests extend beyond the environs of Blackburn -- beg to disagree?
The Beeb's coverage is very good, as usual and how refreshing it is to watch sports without having to endure commercials every few minutes.
As for 'unwarranted triumphalism,' perhaps Mr Anson should check with his colleagues -- your sports reporters!
