HISTORIC vehicles, street theatre and a spectacular air display are all coming to Morecambe next weekend.

Add top class musical guests and a daring sea rescue display and you have the recipe for the Morecambe Bay Heritage Gala on Saturday and Sunday, September 13 and 14.

A concert by the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will kick off the weekend gala next Saturday in the Dome at 7.30pm.

And on Sunday, the Bradford to Morecambe Historic Vehicle Rally will see more than 400 vintage cars and other vehicles arrive in the resort to compete with an afternoon of entertainment including music, street theatre, a display by the Red Arrows Aerobatic Team, sea air rescue and daredevil wing walkers from the Utterly Butterly Display Team.

Entertainment comes from the Groovin High Jazz Band and local street carnival band Bay Beat, among others.

The Gala has been timed to coincide with the national Heritage Open Days 2003 celebration which aims to give people free access to properties not usually open to the public or which normally incur an admission charge.

Further information about the Gala is from the Festival Hotline on 01524-582803.
