IN RESPONSE to the letter headed Stop research published in the Citizen in July, a recent survey showed that 90 per cent of people can see past the emotional propaganda of the people who campaign against the use of animals in medical research.

I was just as horrified as the writer to learn that a leading anti-vivisection group who like to pretend they care about animal welfare dont even support their use for developing veterinary medicines. If we lived by their puddled priorities none of us should be taking our pets to the local vet.

When we hear of more animal extremists practising what they preach and refusing medical treatment discovered thanks to animal research and dying for their beliefs then we should all sit up and take notice.

But the reality is that these people will always move the goalposts rather than show the courage of their convictions.
