A JOB shop is to be held in Darwen to encourage more people to apply for positions within the NHS.
Jobcentre Plus in East Lancashire is to team up with the Department of Health on Thursday, to hold nine jobs shops across the region -- including one at Darwen Jobcentre, Green Street.
This is the third year that the NHS Careers National Job Shop Day event has taken place.
At each event, a number of local vacancies will be available covering a number of professions, which could include drivers, porters, cleaners, doctors, new nursing students, midwives, potential healthcare scientists, allied health professionals and qualified returners, will be available.
There will also be background information on the different careers that can be undertaken within the NHS, while representatives from the NHS will be on hand to discuss their roles.
The event will be held at Darwen Jobcentre between 10am and 4pm.
