LEE Sculpher is looking to use the incentives of a money-spinning cup tie to get his title-chasers back on track.

Clitheroe's pace-setting start to the season was halted on Tuesday with a 3-2 defeat at home to Ramsbottom United that ended their 100 per cent record.

And manager Sculpher knows that his side will be on their toes when they host Brandon United in tomorrow's FA Cup first qualifying round.

The Blues boss has been doing his homework on the Northern League champions from Durham, who aren't having as fruitful a time as their hosts so far this campaign.

He said: "They won the Northern League last season so we know it will be a very tough game. They won the league from Bedlington Terriers, who had won it for the last three seasons, so they must be a very strong side.

"This season they've had a bit of a mixed bag but they won last weekend and are hitting form at the right time."

Victory would take Clitheroe's total prize money in the competition to £3,250 and Sculpher is licking his lips at the prospect of further progress.

He added: "From our point of view, we would love to have a big crowd and we have the incentive to earn some money for the club.

"If we got to the last qualifying round that would be our cup final because it gives us an opportunity to get to the first round proper but this is still three or four games away.

"Cup football's all about the luck of the draw so if we get a couple of decent draws we've got every chance."

Barrie Hart and Mark Stewart are unavailable for tomorrow's tie.
