YOUNG people took advantage of the great outdoors yesterday when they enjoyed a Scott Park extravaganza, where specially-erected marquees were buzzing with activities for youngsters, including DJ and film-making workshops.
There were also opportunities in the Burnley park to turn graffiti into works of art and various sporting activities.
Supported by the Mid-Pennine Division of the police and parks services, the event was spearheaded by Nathan Rogan, Youth Outreach Park Ranger and Lisa O'Neill, Youth Arts Development Worker for Burnley Youth Theatre.
Lisa said: "Young people don't always make the best use of our great local parks -- they should be getting full advantage from them alongside children and the elderly.
"We asked some of the groups we work with what they would like to see in Scott Park and that's what we based the event on. It was a chance for them to hang out, socialise with old and new friends and try new things, which promotes and protects the park."
