GRAHAM Branch is urging Burnley's bashful boys to make themselves heard.

The Clarets skipper has forced himself to become more vocal since taking over the armband this summer.

And Branch wants some of his quieter team mates to pump up the volume and shout the Clarets to success.

He said: "We have always been a vocal team, but when you are bringing new players in, sometimes it takes time for them to bed in.

"All players are different and some will shout their heads off while others just want to get on with it.

"David May does a lot of talking, while Andy Todd is a little quiet - probably because he has only just arrived.

"But it's not just the lads at the back that should be shouting - it's the whole team.

"You need that communication and if we can get a lot of talking right through the team, it can only help the lads and improve us."

The captain's armband is now sitting more comfortably on Branch's upper arm after a shaky start to the season.

The Clarets made the long trip to Norwich today on a high after three straight wins wiped the memory of three successive defeats n August.

And Branch, 31, feels he is warming to the task with every passing 90 minutes.

"I'm still learning," he insisted. "I've never been a skipper before - and for the gaffer to give me the captaincy was a big thing for me.

"Every game is a new experience and all I can do is go out and try my best and hopefully keep the captaincy by letting my football do the talking."

He added: "The first three games were very hard, but we have definitely turned things around in the last three games and we seem to be getting better and better every week.

"Some of the football we have been playing is absolutely brilliant. There is no-one exceptional in this league and everyone seems to be beating each other, but I think the football we are playing is the best in the league.

"We are playing some unbelievable football when we get it down and play and if we can carry that on and keep the lads fit and the squad together, we'll go far."
