GROWING transport firm Kenyon Road Haulage is investing £200,000 on expanding its Blackburn base to cope with a surge in demand for its services.

The family-owned business has doubled the size of its operations by expanding onto previously unused land it already owned at its headquarters in Thornley Avenue.

The additional three acres will be used as a parking area for some of the company's 40 trucks and 70 trailers, permitting the construction of an additional freight transfer facility.

Kenyon Road Haulage has continued to experience rapid growth since joining the Palletways overnight palletised freight network.

Palletways members collect their goods locally during the day and deliver to a central hub in Lichfield, Staffordshire, where they are processed and sorted into designated areas according to their destination. Vehicles then return the same evening with deliveries to their local depot.

Wayne Kenyon, managing director of Kenyon Road Haulage, said: "Our continued growth is a result of being focused on quality and cost."
