CHILDREN from Israel who are suffering from cancer were treated to a trip to England thanks to a local charity.

The Miracle Of Life charity, which is based in Sunnybank, hosted a delegation of 14 children aged between nine and 17.

The organisation aims to improve the quality of life of children with cancer throughout Israel, regardless of religion, race and ethnic affiliation.

Their visit last week (May 19) included a trip to London, Manchester and Eurodisney where they went on the London Eye, toured the House of Lords and met Uri Geller.

The group also managed to fit in a trip to Pilsworth Megabowl and Manchester United Football Club as part of the visit sponsored by JNF and Bank Hapoalim.

Miracle Of Life trustee, Doreen Gerson, said: "Especially at a time when there is such unrest in their region, it is important for us to emphasise the unity which this delegation represents in having Christian, Jewish Muslim and Druze participants, who share one thing in common, the dreadful disease and their collective struggle against it."
