AN Atherton woman who attacked another woman because she had made a statement about her to police has been jailed for 12 months.
A judge at Liverpool Crown Court also made a four year Anti-Social Behaviour Order on Jeanette Hook, aged 20, of Peak Avenue, who had pleaded guilty to two assault offences.
Richard Jones, prosecuting, said that on January 13, Hook met the woman, Elizabeth Friar, in a street in Atherton. Miss Friar had made a statement to police about Hook about an alleged burglary and Hook punched her several times causing bruising to her head.
Later while in a police custody suite she kicked a woman police officer while being restrained, he said.
The court heard that Hook, who had been drinking on the day of the offences, has previous convictions including attacking an asylum seeker.
