LEIGH Centurions have made former director and chairman Brian Bowman the club's first Life Member.
Mr Bowman, who was also a founder member of the Leigh Past Players Association, has been involved with rugby league for 60 years.
He was also a key member of the Rugby League Council, GB Selection Committee, Lancashire Selection Committee, RL Disciplinary Committee, International Cup & Rules Committee and plus Lancashire President.
Under his chairmanship Leigh won the Division One championship and Lancashire Cup in 1981-82.
He said: "This has come as a complete surprise and a great honour. I feel over the moon that I have been recognised for the work I have done for the club over years. To be part of the club is very special to me."
