A DRUG addict went out shoplifting in Kwiksave to raise cash for his wedding, Burnley Magistrates heard.

Gary John Bradley, 27, helped himself to bedding, which he told police he was going to sell to raise money. Bradley, of Laithe Street, Burnley, who is currently on a drug treatment and testing order, was given a chance to keep out of trouble.

Sentence was deferred until Nov 24 and the bench ordered him to co-operate with the order, to comply with a curfew and not to commit any offences.

Bradley admitted stealing from shop premises on May 21. The court was told Bradley had a "lengthy," list of previous convictions and had in the past offended to fund his drug habit.

Graeme Tindall, defending, said Bradley, who considered himself a family man, was doing well on the DTTO and was committed to being drug free.
