Twelve-year-old Kamran Ashraf stole the show when former world champion Steve Davies came to Accrington.

The youngster was among a number of young tournament finalists who got a chance to play Steve Davies at Hyndburn Sports Club.

Kamran finished runners-up in the under 12s and under 14s section but put up a fight in his only frame with Steve Davies.

Kamran's Father Rahat said, "He managed to score a total of 39 points against Steve Davies and even had the cheek to put Steve into a snooker twice.

"Steve returned the favour but Kamran managed to get out of it."

Last year Kamran took on world champion Ronnie'O'Sullivan in the same tournament.

Kamran has now knotched up ovr £1000 in prize money and won over 100 tournaments after taking the game up when he was ten.

He is a regular at Chalkers Snooker Club in Nelson and hit a break of 103 break there recently.
