WHILE Leigh U15s collected their fourth league win and fitfth overall against Wigan, the result was not as convincing as the scoreline might suggest.
Electing to field, Leigh's bowlers maintained a tight control from the start, to restrict their visitors to 68 for 9 from 20 overs. This was evidenced by figures of 3 for 16 from Alex Roussak, 3 for 21 for Tim Edwards, 1 for 13 for Ross Shepherd, and 1 for 3 for Robbie Millward from just one over. However, a degree of sloppiness in the field probably made this score a dozen or so more than it might have been.
In reply, Alex Roussak again batted through to finish unbeaten on 24, but the loss of four wickets, two or three of which could have been avoided by better concentration or discipline, meant the result was decided only in the 18th over after Ross Shepherd had joined his skipper to see Leigh home by 6 wickets.
