A FELL runner who died on Holcombe Moor suffered a massive heart attack, a post mortem has confirmed.
The finding of natural causes means there will be no inquest held into the death of Mr Frank Whittaker, of Lumb Carr Avenue, Holcombe Brook.
The 64-year-old was out running with a friend last Friday evening when he collapsed and died near to Pilgrim's Cross on the moor.
His friend alerted the emergency services and Rossendale Mountain Rescue Team was called in to recover Mr Whittaker.
