BURNLEY residents took to the streets to cheer on England in their latest Euro 2004 match.

People in Clifton Street decked out the houses with flags and bunting for the game against Switzerland and even set up a TV outside to watch the match.

The party continued long into the evening after England won the game 3-0 to keep their Euro dream firmly on track. Resident Eileen Stoyles said: "It's a lovely community spirit round here and people thought it would be nice to do something different to watch the game."

Meanwhile, staff at Burnley's Asda superstore got into the Euro 2004 spirit by dressing up in England kits to raise money for charity.
