IN a tense final of the South Ribble Kwik Cricket finals St Mary Magdalene primary school beat Seven Stars by two runs.
The school will now take part in the Lancashire finals at Old Trafford cricket ground, Manchester on June 30.
A total of 27 schools in South Ribble took part in the competition and Kingsfold and St Mary's St Benedict were the other quarter-finalists.
Peter Meloy, chairman of South Ribble's cricket development group said: "'We are really pleased with the number of schools entering the festival this year and particularly impressed with the standard of play.
"These festivals are important in our plans to involve more youngsters in the sport."
