LINDA and David Sykes decided to sell off some of their unwanted treasures to help pay for elder son Richard's double wedding.

They called in TV's Cash in the Attic team to dig out valuables in the hope that they would raise £1,250 at auction to go towards the costs of wedding ceremonies in France and Lowton.

With the help of antiques and collectables expert Paul Heyes they ferreted out some smashing stuff, some that I would have loved to buy, but the skinflints at the auction weren't willing to cough up and the couple didn't hit the goal they wanted.

Of course they weren't banking on hitting the target, but they enjoyed the experience, and, as expected, it made not one jot of difference to the wedding plans.

Richard married his fiancee, Isabelle Bessonnet, at a very happy occasion in France last month -- and the repeat performance takes place this weekend at Lowton St Mary's.

Double congratulations and cheers to a happy future!
