IT appears that Blackburn with Darwen Council is not content with making as much money as possible from the motorist for shopping in the town centre.
It has now started charging drinkers for the pleasure of entering the Tropicana Bar which opens on a Saturday night downstairs in King George's Hall.
What started out as a temporary venue has now turned into another money making venture.
And while drinking in the town centre has been the focal point in the paper lately, might I suggest that bar staff start to refuse customers who can hardly stand let alone walk, another drink maybe our town centres will be a safer place for everyone to have a social drink.
So don't put all the blame on the "binge drinkers" and "lager louts," the breweries and councillors should take some of the blame for encouraging it and not stipulating certain standards in the first place.
