Suddenly everyone became concerned about high morals and ethics after the resignation of six Labour Councillors in Blackburn.
The majority of Labour leaders, councillors and supporters strongly believed that these rebels must not be accepted back in any shape or form. However, because Labours chances to remain in power depended on these six councillors the party made a deal to form a coalition.
So what happened to your high morals, ethics and political principles. Lets accept the fact that the Labour party and was so desparate to hold on to the power, even, Foreign Secretary Jack Straw had to organise a series of meetings to make a deal with these rebels.
Many people believe that elections have been reduced to making aq choice between the bad and the worse. Does it make any difference who wins or who is in power. No, it cannot make a difference because those who talk about high political morals and ethics change their political tunes so quickly in order to achieve power.
People elect councillors to serve them with dignity and honour. Labour and the Independents played double standards and this is not acceptable in a healthy political environment.
