TRAVELLERS who broke into a Preston car park last week, were moved on in less than 24 hours.
On Thursday July 29 commuters arrived at Walton-le-dale Park and Ride car park, to find eight caravans parked up.
The travellers were caught on closed circuit TV breaking a padlock on a gate on Wednesday at around 9.15pm.
Lancashire County Council, which owns the land, served a notice to leave the site by 7.30pm at around noon on Thursday, and the travellers left by 7pm.
John Asquith, traffic manager for Preston Bus, which runs the park and ride service, said: "Although the bus service was unaffected we had to close the toilets and a lot of rubbish was left.
"One vehicle was vandalised in the time they were here and there was a general atmosphere of unpleasantness.
"The land is the roperty of the county council and they will seek court action to make an immediate response in cases like this."
