A LEYLAND pop duo is taking the next step to stardom by supporting one of the country's most popular boy bands on their UK theatre tour.

Jon and Yew Han Baker, who are Supatonic, will kick off their tour with Blazin' Squad today (Thursday) when they play in Croydon.

The brothers will play eight of the 12-date tour with the pop superstars whose chart hits such as Love on the Line shot them to the top of the charts.

Jon, 24, said: "It'll be great to tour with such a popular band and hopefully we'll be able to get a few more fans who'll like us as much as Blazin' Squad.

"It's great to think we have got fans up and down the country and hopefully by doing this we'll get even more."

But they are no strangers to performing to big audiences as they took to the stage in front of 10,000 screaming fans at a Children with Leukaemia charity concert, The Amazing Great Children's Party, held in Battersea Park, London on July 15.

Jon said: "It was absolutely amazing. It's definitely our best gig to date. We couldn't believe how many people were there."

But there was one particular lady who caught their eye.

"Jamelia was lovely and she even asked us for our autographs.

"It's not very often I get to see such a pretty lady so that was really nice."

It is non-stop for the pop pair who, as well as doing the Blazin' Squad tour, will be doing the Bliss Magazine Rock 'n' Shop Tour, a schools' tour during September and will release their debut single, I Wish It Wasn't True, on October 4.

Jon said: "We're really looking forward to releasing the single.

"We've been really busy promoting and working really hard and we're hoping to do a tour of HMV stores around the country and hopefully will be stopping in Preston."
