GRAHAM Barrow has told his Bury side to use their heads as they look to build on a winning start to their Coca Cola League Two campaign on Tuesday night.

Barrow is expecting an aerial bombardment as the Shakers travel to Bristol Rovers on the back of a 3-1 opening day victory over Yeovil.

Rovers manager Ian Atkins is building a direct and strong side, and they opened their campaign with an impressive 2-0 win at last season's play-off finalists Mansfield.

And Barrow knows that the Pirates will present a tougher physical challenge than Yeovil.

He said: "Make no mistake, it will be a totally different match from Saturday.

"We know what's going to come from Bristol, there will be a big crowd and we are bound to come under the cosh at some stage.

"We'll need to win our share of headers and get the ball down and play from there.

"It's just another problem we have to deal with and if we can cope the way we did against Yeovil, we'll be okay."

Barrow is hoping that Saturday's victory will set up the Shakers for a good season, as they aim to prove wrong the experts who have tipped them to struggle.

He said: "The players have set their standards now and the big thing is we know we can play better.

"You could see the spirit was right and it's our job to keep them working and drive them on a little bit. Hopefully we can get something tonight and go on from there."

Dave Nugent's two headed goals bore out what the manager has been saying about the young striker's aerial prowess.

Nugent suffered a badly broken nose in a pre-season friendly at Blackburn last summer and it seemed to affect his game for a while.

But there's no doubting that he is back to his best as Saturday's display demonstrated.

"You could see the confidence coming back into Dave's game at the end of last season" explained Barrow.

"He was working hard but not getting the goals he deserved, although he did get three towards the end.

"But he's made it very difficult for me in pre-season and he did great for himself on Saturday.

"He's back in the six-yard box doing what he's good at."

Kick-off at the Memorial Ground is 7.45pm.
