YOUNGSTERS will be able to learn new sporting skills following the appointment of two new coaches who will visit schools in South Ribble.
Gareth Piper and Nick Jackson-Cooney have been appointed as 'multi-skilled' coaches' and will be working in secondary and primary schools, helping to set up new after-school clubs.
They have been funded by South Ribble Borough Council, Sport England, local housing associations, the two specialist sports colleges (Worden and Brownedge St Mary's High School) and Lancashire Sport.
They will also be working out in the community, launching South Ribble's 'Football in the Community' scheme and have been working with the local community beat managers to set up football coaching sessions on local estates with more than 50 children taking part in the first sessions at Lostock Hall and Gregson Lane.
