BLACKBURN bowling duo Bharat Tripathi and Joseph Hawke were in fine form as they helped Lancashire Under 14s to a comfortable seven wicket victory over Cumbria at Haslingden.

Tripathi spear-headed Lancashire's attack claiming a superb 5-3 to help dismiss Cumbria for 101.

Hawke also shone with the ball, taking 3-21 before turning his attention to the bat where he remained unbeaten with a knock of 27 as Lancashire passed their target.

Hawke was also in fine batting form in another challenge match against Durham at Chester-le-Street.

The Under 14s set a first innings target of 222-6 from their allotted 61 overs with Hawke (31) and Chris Tipper (63 not out) leading the way.

Durham failed to reach that score in their reply but batted out their overs to finish on 142-7.

Blackburn batsman Jordan Clarke has been named in the North of England Under 13s squad for their annual regional Festival at Taunton, next week.

The Queen Elizabeth School student also keeps wicket and he has figured prominently for Lancashire Under 13s this season.
