THE famous Wall of Fear will not be at Rossendale's Bike Show this year after a row broke out between the event's organisers.

Graham Crispey, who runs Crispey's Wall of Fear, decided to pull out of the show at the last minute after being told he had to pay for his own security fencing.

But organisers have today vowed that the show will go on, despite being without the popular attraction sometimes known as the wall of death. The attraction involves riders thundering horizontally around the wall, defying gravity at speed.

Graham said: "I arrived on Monday after a 200-mile trip which took me six hours, to be told that I had to pay for the £200 fencing this year.

"We don't make a lot of money. It is done as an expensive hobby and we do it because we like coming to Rossendale, but things have changed this year.

"We need the fencing for security and as we were targeted by arsonists a few years ago.

"There are no hard feelings and we hope the show will continue to be a success."

Viv Tolly, officer manager at the Bacup Road Rossendale Valley Motor Bike site, said: "Unfortunately we are not going to have the Wall of Fear on Sunday. The organiser changed his mind.

"It's a shame but we are sure the show will be just as successful."
