LANCASHIRE Police are said to deal satisfactorily with phone calls from the general public.
They have been singled out for apparently unique praise for promptness, reliability and informing callers of the situation.
So here is a police force for the others to copy, and even try to emulate.
Nothing wrong with copying something which is worth copying. It can be the sincerest form of flattery.
However, over the years an impression has been given that top brass police guard their own patches jealousy and zealously.
So perhaps not many forces will be "doing a Rory Bremner" on the Lancashire example. Nevertheless, hope springs eternal in the law-abiding breast.
