Clitheroe 2 Wakefield-Emley 2

AFTER storming into an early two-goal lead, Clitheroe will have been disappointed not to be through to the next round of the FA Cup at the

expense of their Unibond Premier League opponents.

Chris Nestor scored his first goal for the club on four minutes as he drilled home a neat shot from a corner.

Clitheroe then doubled the advantage with a trademark Gary Jackson finish.

A long goal kick from goalkeeper Kris Richens was flicked on by Glyn Barker and Jackson calmly lobbed the goalkeeper to give Clitheroe a strong advantage.

The Blues continued to dominate the opening half and could have been well out of sight by half-time but had to settle for a two-goal cushion.

The visitors produced an improved second half display and pulled a goal back when they caught Clitheroe out with a classic counter attack.

The home side came under increased pressure and Wakefield eventually found an equaliser with a

free header from a set-piece.

Wakefield will be happy to have earned Tuesday night's replay but Clitheroe will travel there full of confidence after this display.
