ONE of the oldest amateur dramatic societies in the world is busy rehearsing its first show of the new season.
St. Joseph's Players is performing "Daisy Pulls it Off" by Denise Deegan until Saturday .
This brilliant comedy is about the attempts of Daisy Meredith to find acceptance in the snobby confines of Grangewood School for Young Ladies in 1927.
The play, which enjoyed a long and very successful run at the Globe Theatre, will be produced by Doreen Johnson.
Curtain up is 7.30pm in St Joseph's Hall, Leigh, and tickets at £5 adults, £3.50 children can be obtained from Boardman's Outfitters, Bradshawgate, Leigh, or on the door.
