NIGEL Worthington has refused to describe tomorrow's basement battle with Blackburn Rovers as a six-pointer - but he is well aware of the significance of the game.

The Canaries will be aiming to record their first Premiership victory of the season - at the 12th attempt - when they play host to the one side below them in the table.

Most home supporters will be looking on it as a must-win game and while the City boss doesn't see it that way, he has talked up the crunch encounter with Mark Hughes's side.

"It's a big game, there's no doubt about that, and it's another good game," he said. "Getting a result will be very important from a psychological point of view so both teams will go for it.

"You can call it a six-pointer, you can call it what you want, but at the end of the day we will get three points if we win it, it's as simple as that.

"There might be a little bit of extra pressure on the supporters, but not the players.

"They will go out there and perform how they have being doing so far this season and if they carry on doing that, and add a cutting edge to their game and take those opportunities in front of goal, then they will be all right.

"I wouldn't say it's our best opportunity to win a game.

"We've already had plenty of those - against Crystal Palace, Spurs and Newcastle to mention just three.

"This is another opportunity to get three points - and hopefully we can do it this time.

"Blackburn are a good club with a new manager in charge and there are some good players there, make no mistake about that.

"They won't be giving an inch and neither will we so it's game on.

"We'll be looking to go out there and play football - but we'll also be looking to battle, to compete.

"And we'll be looking for that to start at 3pm. It will be all hands on deck."
