EVERYTHING patients have always wanted to know about their medication, but have been too afraid to ask, is to be remedied by local health professionals.
Supporting the Ask About Medicines Week, the health authority will be manning information stands in GP surgeries giving patients a chance to ask questions about their medication and raise any concerns.
Mr Andrew Martin, programme director of medicines management of Bury Primary Care Trust said: "We are expecting a positive response from local people and are looking forward to answering their questions and giving them advice where needed.
"The campaign will help local people gain a better understanding of what medicines do and how to make the most appropriate use of them."
Mr Martin added: "AAMW this year has three key themes: everyone is entitled to be involved in deciding whether a medicine is right for them; everyone should be able to get good information to make decisions about medicines; and health care professionals need to support and help people make choices."
Information stands will be at the following practices during the AAMW campaign:
Tomorrow (Friday) - The Birches Medical Centre, Prestwich.
Monday - The Elms Medical Centre, Whitefield.
Tuesday - Prestwich Health Centre.
Wednesday - Mile Lane Health Centre, Bury.
Thursday - Unsworth Medical Centre, Unsworth.
Friday - Greenmount Medical Centre.
