PUPILS from two Burnley schools teamed up for a sports and anti-racism day at Turf Moor. St Peter's CE Primary School and Worsthorne Primary School took part in the Schools, Citizenship, Anti Racism and Football (SCARF) project.

The culmination of the scheme, organised by Burnley FC's Community Programme and Lancashire County Council, saw pupils from the schools in Church Street and Brownside Road, split into groups to share what they had learned and receive coaching in several sports including football and netball.

Clarets players Danny Coyne and Matt O'Neill presented the children with certificates and a goody bag to commemorate the event.

Jane Richmond, co-ordinator of anti-racist multicultural education for Lancashire County Council said: "The help and coaching from Burnley FC has been superb and we really hope it can work again in the future."
