THE Blackburn Rovers fan who racially abused former Ewood player Dwight Yorke could face the sack.
Tesco has confirmed that warehouse worker Jason Perryman, 22, of Lawson Street, Chorley, was suspended pending an investigation as soon as bosses discovered what had happened during the match with Birmingham at Ewood this month.
A Tesco spokesperson said: "We will not tolerate racism and anyone found to be doing so will have the strongest action taken against them.
"One of the options could be dismissal."
An internal inquiry is expected to be resolved in a matter of days.
Perryman was arrested following a complaint made by the Trinidad and Tobago international. He pleaded guilty to racially abusing the Birmingham City striker at Blackburn Magistrates Court on November 25 and was banned from football grounds for five years and fined £1,000.
David Ashcroft, 21, of Brantwood Drive, Leyland, was bailed to appear before Blackburn magistrates on December 22 after denying a similar charge.
