THE congregation at an Accrington church could be facing a second Sunday service in the ballroom at a local working men's club.
Problems with the ceiling of Christ Church, in Christ Church Square, meant the building was declared temporarily unsafe and church-goers had to find an alternative place of worship.
On Sunday they were welcomed by the Poplar Club, in Wellington Street, which offered them the use of its ballroom for free.
Vicar, the Reverend Kevin Logan, who had to abandon the pulpit to give his sermon in front of the club bar on Sunday, said he was waiting to see if building contractors could come up with a solution this week.
