READERS have raised the issue on the evidence of God and hence the teaching of faith.

For thousands of years mankind has sought a spiritual dimension to his life, a solace in a higher divine order from this earthy world. This tendency in man has been universal in all corners of the world.

This still remains today, with people from the bottom of societies to highly paid professionals in influential positions seeking out God at their place of worship or at least in their hearts.

At times of trouble this becomes ever more apparent and with the turmoil through the ages this basic belief in the Almighty has not diminished.

This is proof enough of the existence of God, for the little that we do know, there is a huge amount that we do not.

The difficulty for man has been the perception of God, opting to view him in human terms or even form.

It would be easier if the identity was left as the All Knowing and Powerful, an unknown source devoid of everything in character that is human or earthly.

If God did not exist, where is the evidence for that? And if we tried to explain away everything in scientific terms, there would still be numerous unanswered questions that science cannot serve.

If religion was totally abandoned, coming generations would be left empty of spiritual health and in the vacancy who knows what could emerge.

What perils of the 21st century will be upon us? The answers to this were foretold by successive religions back in time when scientific knowledge was minimal.

God above is the only restraint and guiding force. He is out there!
